Kalari is perhaps the oldest living martial arts tradition and yet at the same time, remains highly relevant to today’s movement practitioner. Recent scientific research is only now starting to provide the evidence as to how and why Kalari works.
The focus of practice is maintaining health, from the very beginning to the very end of the training process. It is a total body-conditioning, in that it builds not only all the physical attributes of the warrior athlete (strength, flexibility, coordination, balance, core-control, flow, explosiveness etc) but also all the more subtle attributes (humility, devotion, grounding and perhaps most importantly, focus).
